                        IMMIGRANTS

During urbanization there was "new immigration" where an overabundance of new  immigrants migrated to the north from southern and eastern Europe, like Poland, Italy, Slovakia, Croatia. There were also Chinese and Jewish migration, and even a migration in america its self people went from the south to the north. Some of them were farmers in search of fresh land, and some were just peasants seeking the "American Dream" in mills, mines, and factories. People were attracted to cities because of the job opportunity, the excitement and advances Cities had like lights, indoor plumbing, telephones, and skyscrapers. Upon their arrival immigrants were left  to fend for themselves, they were taken advantage of by bosses and discriminated against by Americans and other immigrants. They worked odd jobs that payed little to nothing and lived in slumps and bad environments.
